Fruit Flies - successfully defeating

Everybody who has some fruits or maybe a trash can in the kitchen knows about the problem: Small annoying beasts, coming in swarms. They have a lot of names, most people call them Fruit Flies, the scientits call them Drosophila melanogaster. They love a warm and humid environment and old fruits.

Well, where do these beasts come from? The answer is as simple as disgusting: They are already here. The fruit, which we buy, is long infected with the eggs of the fruit fly. But as long as the fruit is in fresh condition you will not take notice of the small monsters.

How to defeat these flies?

Because of the open food the fight in the kitchen should not happen with chemical sprays. Better and absolutely reliably works the beer-trap:

You take a cup and fill it with beer. For instance the rests of the last evening. In addition a tiny shot vinegar (Balsamico does not work.) and a drop detergent. The fruit flies love the smell of old beer and vinegar and appear themselves fast on the liquid. The detergent lowers the surface tension of the water and the fruit flies sinks. If the liquid is getting cloudy (after 2 days or so), you should make a new one. For best results you put the trap nearby the fruits, so they hav a short way and no reason to fly around the kitchen.
